The Sumida type 91 So-Mo history is here

The model :

The model that dates from the early 2000s is a reference Katana, it is in fact a recovery of the Czech brand Panzershop (it is still noted on the notice). Like all models of this period, the resin requires a little work. Some design errors were also noted and corrected:

At the front: there are missing butterfly nuts on the hood, the headlights have been redone, tow hooks added.

On the sides: the driver’s door was redone in plastic card and opened, the low parts were redone because the resin was too damaged, the tires are attached by straps, brackets will be added under the tires because I just realise it when posting the photos.

At the back: the entire rear door has been redone in plastic card because it has been poorly apprehended by the manufacturer, indeed it is asymmetrical with a tape of sliding vision and the bottom cut to leave room for the buffer support when opening.

For the rest, the instructions are basic and the implementation of parts is sometimes random, it must be tested blank because the positioning is rarely indicated. But in the end, this model is the only existing model of this vehicle and the result is not so bad. Note that the size comparing to the Fairey Kikaku Sumida P is quite small, and I think Katana’s size is wrong.

Figures:

I had originally planned to place the Sumida in a Pacific island with US marines. Unfortunately, when I received the figurines I realized that they were much too large compared to the classic figurines and therefore not at all suitable for the diorama that I had planned. So I returned to my initial idea of a meeting in Manchuria. The action therefore takes place during the Soviet offensive in the summer of 1945, still regarded today as a model because it swept away everything in its path.
